IMPORTANT NEWS FROM CAMP SUE

PLEASE NOTE change of dates for Camp Sue Osborn Residence and Alumni Camps.
Residence Camp will be held from July 17 - July 23.
Alumni Camp will be held from November 4 - 6.

An unfortunate scheduling mix-up caused us to have to rearrange our camp dates.

Parents, please know that we are doing the best we can, with what we have, with your children's best interests and safety at the forefront of every single decision we make. Always.

Many dedicated and loving people have invested many hours and many tears over the last 24 hours to arrive at the solution that we have. We understand that you have many suggestions, questions, complaints, and concerns. Please know that we have addressed and investigated every possible solution to arrive at this one. Although it is not ideal, it is the best, safest, most practical answer. We will make the best of it and provide two outstanding, safe, and fun experiences for our campers. It's what we do.

Registered Alumni Campers are automatically registered for the November camp. Camp Burton has heated cabins and they hold camps and retreats year-round; it will be a different but equally fun fall camp experience! If, despite all of our best assurances, you choose not to send your child to the rescheduled camp, you may contact us for a refund. All parents were contacted at the phone number provided on the camper application. You will also receive a follow-up email or letter. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Board President Dawn Majors at campsueosborn@gmail.com.

We know that you may be frustrated and that our campers will be disappointed and sad. We are equally saddened, and it is a testament to the love that our camp staff have for our camps and campers that they have been able to take this unfortunate mistake and turn it around so that we are still able to provide both camps, without losing either. We regret the turn of events that has caused such frustration and disappointment for so many. You have put your trust in us for so many years of successful, delightful camps. It is our sincere hope that that well-earned trust will continue and we look forward to continuing to serve you and your children.

Camp Sue Osborn is dedicated to providing excellent, everyday camp experiences for Ohio's individuals with special needs in Lake and Geauga County.

I love camp because it is the great equalizer – no one is different. It gives kids a chance to experience things they might not have had a chance to do. Camp is a collection of good people whose only goal in life is to have the best time they possibly can.
