FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if I can’t afford to send my child?

We offer opportunities for “Camperships” which pay a partial amount or even full amount of the cost of camp to campers who can prove financial need. Just fill out a Campership Form, which can be found online on the Camper Applications page or call 440-602-1037 for more information.

Can Camp Sue Osborn be used for extended school year services?

Not usually. CSO is a purely recreational setting for children with disabilities; therefore many IEP goals are simply not applicable to camp. We also do not have the ability to document or provide the needed structure for extended school year services.

I love Camp’s mission. How can I contribute?

We are always looking for volunteers for both Day and Residence camps, to help with our Reverse Raffle, or to participate in our Golf Outing. Information on all these events can be found on our website.

It looks like the cost for campers has increased this year. What is the reason?

It is true that we increased the cost of both camps this year by $25. This was a reluctant choice, but due to increased costs to run both camps, and in order to provide the same level of service, we have had to pass on some of the costs to families. Campers who qualify can still receive financial aid in the form of “Camperships,” (see above) and we are currently looking at increasing the funding for “Camperships” so more families can receive financial help.
