HISTORY

Camp Sue Osborn is a fresh-air camp serving children with handicaps or special needs. Begun in 1975 by a mother who wanted her daughter to have the same summer experience as other children, Camp Sue Osborn was founded with the intentions of sharing friendships, building camaraderie, and having fun.

Children in Lake and Geauga Counties have the option of attending either a two-week day camp, a one-week residence camp, or both. Some of the activities include swimming, nature walks, arts and crafts, fishing, drama skits, music, dancing, campfires, and much more.

The success of this camp depends greatly on the dedicated support of the community and the unwavering helping hands of the staff. Over 200 staff members and more than 200 campers each year are involved with Camp Sue Osborn. In addition, Out-and-About activities are planned to engage the children throughout the year.
